{5 August 2008}   Tater-tot Casserole

Ingredients:

1 lb ground meat (turkey or beef)                                    frozen tater tots

1 cup shredded cheese                                                    salt, pepper, seasoning (to taste)

1 can tomato sauce                                                         1/2 cup chopped onion

1/2 cup chopped green pepper                                       1/2 cup chopped tomato

1 can chopped mushrooms

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees.  Grease 9×13 baking dish and set aside.

On stovetop, brown ground meat and drain completely.  Over low heat, season the meat, and add sauce, onions, mushrooms, green peppers, and tomatoes.  Mix completely, and remove from heat.

Pour meat mixture into baking dish, spread it out evenly.

Sprinkle 1/2 of the cheese over the meat mixture.  Spread one layer of tate-tots over the meat.  Sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.

Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, until tater-tots are golden brown.
